After seeing Dr. Zimmerman’s presentation, my opinions on affirmative action still having a place in the US have an even stronger point of argument. By ignoring racial profiling, and employing Jackie Robinson, Branch made a critical decision based on the future of the organization (Timmerman, 2010). This decision is fair and justified. Any organization that focuses on making profits from the input of its employees has to pick out poor performers and replace them with better performing employees. Branch’s decisions weren’t based on race; they were based on better performance regardless of radical differences between employees.
