A group of people who work together in an organization to accomplish a given task is a team. Within that team, individuals need to accomplish the goals of the team. The combination of individual skills can also assist in finishing the task. These skills include; experience, knowledge, attitude, and aptitude. The main agenda of a team is to assist in solving a problem, improve a process, or complete a project on time. In so doing a team can assist in investigating a discrepancy in the organization or perform a task of best practice in a company.
In Quality Management System (QMS), three areas involve teamwork. These include where the objective is to include employees from more than a single organizational function such as environmental quality management. An organization can form a team when there is need to focus on a specific agenda such as yearlong project that needs a new quality management system. Teamwork is also desirable where specially trained members need to revise a proposal such as the quality control team in manufacturing. The duration of a team depends on the task given for teams to accomplish. Projects can run for at least a year.
Therefore, teamwork is essential in QMS since teams form quality decisions owing from the diversity of the team. Individuals in a team have unique abilities and skills. When combined these skills solve issues and enhance quality of products in an organization. As a principle of QMS, continuous improvement needs teamwork to detect early signalling problems.
An ideal quality management system consists of a quality policy. This is a document that quality experts and management develop to express the acceptable level of quality and duties of every department to ensure standard products. These quality policies also contain quality objectives and manual. The ideal make-up of quality QMS contains organizational structure. This defines how various activities in the organization will run, their coordination and supervision towards organizational goals. This structure has different entities such as departments, individuals and workgroups.
ISO is the international standards that make sure services and product are safe, in good quality, and reliable. In organizations, these standards ensure there is reduction of costs, minimizing waste and increasing produce. The most recent requirements are in the ISO 9001 for organizations. These requirements provide a clear way for organizations to operate. The requirements not only provide consistency and understanding of the systems but also provide measurement of goals and objectives.
Food Drug and Administration (FDA) is an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Sciences. It protects and promotes public health through supervising food and regulating its safety. It is also responsible for items such as dietary supplements, vaccines, drugs, medical devices, cosmetics and veterinary products. The FDA regulates most products in the medical world especially every facet of manufacturing, efficiencies, and safety. In food and dietary supplements, it ensures that the quality of food as claimed in labels holds out.
