A business model relates to the strategic planning activities to create and deliver value focusing on who pays for the core product or service pay, the target customer and position in the value chain. The agency and subscription business models are the most common for e-books models, and under the agency model the publishers set the prices, while the distributors get a fee percentage for every book sold (Laudon & Traver, 2014). The subscription model is the most common model and provides access to e-book content for the specified period, where the package is inaccessible when the time period lapses (Roncevic, 2013). In the music and entertainment industry, convergence technology using the internet has been slow in cases where industry players have failed to avail their products for use by internet-enabled devices (Gillmor, 2011). Even though, digital content creation is increasingly common, concerns over piracy have hampered technology convergence.
