Economic Effects of Migration
Migration can have negative and positive effects on the sending (countries where people migrate from) and receiving (countries where people are emigrating to) countries. The benefits for the receiving countries are short-lived and mostly don't significantly impact a nation's economy. Most of the time, the sending countries are developing countries and usually get benefits of remittances from emigration (Sunny Levin Institute, 2018). Remittances are not always essential when considering economic importance as they are often used for household purposes. However, in crisis or crises, remittance can be useful for survival and reconstruction processes (Sunny Levin Institute, 2018).
