Current issues are usually very important as they keep someone adept with the various happenings around the globe. From such events, one is able to critically assess and forecast on the way forward as far as far as the event is concerned. The most recent case involves the admission by Mitsubishi of falsifying fuel economy tests. The main reason behind this falsification was in order to flatter the mileage of these respective automobiles. The whole thing was being done by the company’s employees, without the knowledge of the management. The process was done through the alteration of the figures of tyre pressure. The impacts of the whole issue led to the collapse of the company’s share prices on the national stock exchange (BBC News, 2016).
There are three main things that I learn from this whole scenario. First, is the fact that some improprieties can be done by the employees without knowledge of the management. This is quite interesting and disturbing at the same time, since it means that employees can decide by themselves, to simply sabotage the operations of a company, out of their own design. Secondly, is the extent to which an act done by a few individuals can impact on the overall safety of millions. This was something done within the company’s manufacturing chain, but its impact, would be a safety scare on many people. It therefore calls upon persona integrity, for the success of a company to be realized.
