A benefit corporation or simply b corporation is a corporate entity for profit that is authorized by the states of U. S and also the District of Colombia. The benefit corporation includes positive actions on the community, environment, workers, and the society. The purpose of this type of business entity is to create benefit for the public in general. B Corporations differ from traditional corporations in transparency, accountability, and purpose, but not in taxation. B Corporation is similar to other corporations, in that the officers and directors of B Corporations operate with the same authority in business as in traditional corporations does but one is required to put into consideration the actions of one’s decision on shareholders, society, and the environment. The B Corporation differs from traditional corporations in a number of ways. In transparency provisions, b corporations are required to publish ones’ annual reports of benefit of their environmental, financial, and social performance based on a transparent and comprehensive standard. In B Corporation, shareholders judge the company’s financial performance of based on the company’s financial, environmental, and social performance whereas in traditional corporations, shareholders judge the financial performance of a company.
In conclusion, B Corporation is a certified corporate entity for profit, which includes positive actions on the community, environment, workers, and the society. One is approved by the U. S states and the District of Colombia. The purpose of B Corporation is to create benefit for the public in general, which has a positive impact on the environment, and the society. This type of business entity is similar to other corporations, in that both publish one’s annual reports of the benefit of their financial performance.
