Some of the ethical issues involving the use of marijuana tries to answer the question if the benefit of taking marijuana can exceed the risk of taking marijuana. Sometimes a lot of physicians in hospitals can make recommendations to operation on the margin of the involved medical society. For example clinical ethicists can play a very important role in designing and conducting trials for testing medical marijuana. They can also assist doctors to come up with a framework that determines the limits of the autonomy of patients when it comes to medical marijuana decisions. One of the primary ethical concern of marijuana is whether marijuana should be recommended to the patients without issuing the general protections accorded to the patients. Over the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the use of marijuana in many states in the United States. Doctors and researchers states that the evidence of its benefit is still limited. Additionally, there are no convincing ethical grounds for doctors and physicians recommending the medical use of marijuana outside the present regulations.
Another health concern that exists is the patient and doctor relation in the hospitals. Since a lot of hospitals in the United States do not allow doctors to recommend drugs that are not approved and distributed in the hospitals, some physicians approving the use of medical marijuana in hospitals ends up operating on the margins of the medical society.
