Q.1 What was most informative from the reading on Christianity in a Global context?
The most informative in the reading is the change in the global trend of Christian growth and decline worldwide. It was interesting to learn that Christianity has grown over the years and is projected to grow into the future in continents such as Africa, Latin America, and Asia (Bellofatto, Gina & Todd 157-158). Secularization is expected to continue widespread in Europe and North America, resulting in a continued decline in the percentage of Christianity. Additionally, I found it interesting that despite the growth of Christianity, the contact gap between them and non-Christians is extremely wide, raising the question about their influence and mission to others (Bellofatto, Gina & Todd 162).
Q.2 What is your response to a missionary who risked her life, lost her husband in Vietnam just to spread Christianity?
My response to Marie Ziemer is that she and her family were an outstanding and selfless act to strive to spread Christianity to those who did not know God in French New China (“Missionary Vietnam.”).
