Computer Simulation. Global Supply Chain Management Simulation V2.

Coursework Instructions:

This interactive online simulation allows students to try their hands on managing the complexities of a global supply chain by putting them in the shoes of the supply chain
manager of a mobile phone manufacturer. Students become responsible for the rollout of
two mobile phones. This illustrates key concepts of supply chain management such as:
creating a balanced supply chain across suppliers with different lead times, building
building flexibility into supply chain to avoid stock-outs and excess inventory, and
evaluating and using demand forecasts. Each student’s success is measured by company
profits as well as through a dynamic evaluation process in which students answer probing
questions from the company’s board members.

Global Supply Chain Management Simulation V2
Introduction
Undertaking the simulation has been an exciting undertaking. There are several aspects I have learned about the proper management of supply chains. Being the manager of the process, I made the decision based on the expert advice offered. The system also allows an individual to understand how different aspects of the product development process can affect its overall success. Some of the key elements considered in the simulation process were design, analysis tools, forecasting, production, and managing of suppliers. Moreover, the simulation allows weighing the costs and benefits associated with the production process (Hammond, 2020).
The board room allows the student to review the performance of a particular year. There is constructive feedback from each board member on how the supply chain can be managed effectively. However, the student is given the autonomy to make decisions as longs as the company performance is optimized. The scorecard reveals the yearly performance in the process of supply chain management. Moreover, the scorecard includes profits for each year and board votes. Through this simulation model, I have gained several insights into the management of the supply chain. First, the simulation assists in creating a cost-effective and flexible supply chain by combing different suppliers. A supply chain manager, an individual must be able to interpret the diverse dynamics associated with demand and production requirements. The goal is to ensure that the company remains profitable while reacting to the diverse shifts in the demand and supply processes (Hammond, 2020). The subsequent sections outline the diverse aspects of the simulation process. The results will summarized for Year1, Year 2, Year 3, and Year 4.
Design
During Year 1, the design focused on upgraded communication and stylish. These were key elements that enhanced the demand for the products with minimal production costs. There was a combined achievable profit margin that enhanced the value for shareholders. Based on the design level insights, the projected demand and potential return proved that Upgraded Communication and Stylish were the most viable elements to include in the design. In Year 2, the focus was on the storage capacity, extended battery, and durability. These were elements that enhanced the value for the company based on projected demand at the point. Moreover, with the changing needs of the consumers, it was important to develop phones with extended durability and high storage capacity. In Year 3, the design focus was on extended battery, GPS anti-theft trac...
