[professor]The most basic needs in our lives as humans are food, shelter, and clothing. These are the needs that allow us to live continually and be protected at the same time. However, there are needs we are incapable of giving ourselves. Those needs are especially addressed by those who have trained that field. I am speaking of medical needs that our bodies require when necessary. Medical interventions are handled and administered by professionals who have studied them. Their job is to give us the medical care we need from time to time and some extent. Their medical service is the needs our body has to receive but could not be given by ourselves unless we are medical professionals. Nurses are among the medical workers who provide us medical service that suits our medical condition. Nursing theories that allow nurses to navigate through nursing exist as guides and fundamentals. Among those theories are Virginia Henderson's Environmental Theory and Florence Nightingale's The Need Theory.
Henderson's Nursing Need theory focuses on the idea that nursing is more of an art of providing basic health care to people. This theory was developed in a way that nursing is perceived as an intervention to the reclamation of individualistic abilities of a person, instead of a health care service. On the other hand, Nightingale's theory sees nursing as the manipulation of surrounding such as light, noise, and housing. Her theory takes advantage of the manipulated surrounding as part of the health care intervention. Consequently, Nightingale's theory assumes that a healthy environment is enough basic intervention in the recovery of a patient....
