Hormones are biochemical substances secreted and released into the blood which carries them to organs of the body for specific functions. There are several of them, whose functions will be in line with the body organ they reached. The results of their actions are visible and can be classified depending on the body process(Mandal, n d). Examples of hormones and what they do include growth and development, sexual and reproduction, maintenance of body temperatures and emotions (Mandal, n d). Two hormones discussed here are growth hormones and metabolism hormones in which specific interest is given to insulin and adrenaline.
Insulin is a hormone responsible for regulating the glucose levels in the body. It can either lower or raise the levels depending on what would be best for the body. It is manufactured in the pancreas and released in its beta cells when there is a detection of glucose (Medilexicon International, n. d). When the levels of glucose change, there is observed a trigger in the beta cells which leads to their release, with its two roles of the function taking place. The two are either to excite or inhibit more sugar into the plasma of the blood.
For the last one month, this has worked to inhibit more glucose into the blood and even reduce the levels to recommended state. With many sugars in the blood, and much energy, when it is regulated the muscular behaviors due to excess energy will be reduced. This is because the glucose in the body is responsible for the energy in the body. This excess level of glucose was as a result of many sugary substances taken before.
