Researchers conducting inquiries need research hypotheses and proposals to guide investigations. Broad research questions (RQs) often lead investigators to identify a gap in prevailing clinical research or practice. All research problems or statements are grounded in a better understanding of connections between two or more variables. In hypothesis testing, the researcher starts from a null hypothesis. The null hypothesis assumes that the treatments under comparison exhibit no difference. For instance, when comparing two clinical vasodilator approaches for patients with heart failure, the number of patients treated with hydralazine and nitrates who survive is compared with the number of survivors treated with enalapril.
