According to Babywise, are human infants Good (equipped at birth with positive tendencies), Bad (have innately bad tendencies at birth, Blank Slate (have no skills, abilities, or tendencies at birth)?
With reference to Babewise, the babies come with innately bad tendencies. This means that the babies tend to dictate to their parents regarding their program to feed and sleep among other needs. Babewise thus advises the mothers to adopt a routine that they can confirm their babies to overtime. According to the Babewise, newborn’s parents without a schedule may end up feeding the baby at the wrong time, since once the baby cries they are always trying to understand if the baby is hungry or not. In the article by Bob LaMendola, on the second paragraph, the parents are supposed to be in control, to teach their toddlers that the world does not revolve around them.
According to Babywise, Should development of an infant be shaped by Nature or Nurture? What is the most important force?
With close reference to the Babewise program as inscribed in their book and the teachings, the baby should be shaped through nurturing their abilities. This is opposed to the aspect of letting the child develop on their own terms as nurturing through nature requires. It is for this reason that the mothers are advised to come up with programs that the babies have to conform. Ideally the baby’s natural tendencies and routine needs are discouraged. In the article by Bob, baby Rachel is trained to lever on a schedule and so do her siblings Hanna and Adam. They are nurtured by their parents, rather than dictate.
According to Babywise, Do babies develop the same? - Universal or differently - Particularistic?
