Couples face several uncertainties in their relationships. However, children are most affected because it is hard to live with a missing parent due to the bond developed since their birth. The emergence of the problems might lead to divorce or separation, or even death. Illness, for example, might lead to the death of both or one of the parents. At the same time, domestic fights might end up in divorces and separation. Most of the time, children are aware of their problems, including the fights they often face. At the same time, illnesses cannot be hidden, and children often know about them. I agree that knowing what might happen in situations surrounding deployment, separation or divorce, moving, illness, or death demystifies children's fears associated with these difficult times.
Children get so much attached to their parents because they are the first people they interact with as they grow. This means that separation from their parents is likely to affect them on a broader scale as children may find it hard to adjust to their absence. Adverse effects include children's anxiety, difficulty in socializing, and hate towards men or women depending on the parent who moves out and the children's age (Granot, 2004). This is the case during a divorce or a separation. Whenever one or both parents die, the child is likely to find it hard to socialize or trust someone else. The biggest challenge is when the orphaned children adjust to their living without their parents and getting used to a new person.
