Potential Causes of Misbehavior or Disruptive Behavior  The student does not want to complete the task because it may be too difficult for the student. The student who does not follow the rules may be afraid that the instructions will not be followed correctly. Meanwhile, the student’s aggressive behavior could indicate that the student witnessed it at home or is a victim of abuse. The student could have ADHD. One symptom of ADHD is a child’s inability to control impulses, such as talking loudly. For example, the student may struggle academically and desire to outperform others through bullying. Another reason could be that the student seeks attention. The student could have ADHD. One of the symptoms of ADHD is a child’s inability to focus, which is why the student struggles to stay seated. Misbehavior or Disruptive Behavior Classroom Management Strategies The teacher can divide the tasks into smaller chunks so that the student is not overwhelmed by the tasks that the student must complete. The teacher can also provide breaks (Van der Oord & Tripp, 2020). The student disregards the teacher’s instructions and aggressively acts when asked to do so. The student who does not follow the rules may be afraid that the instructions will not be followed correctly. Meanwhile, the student’s aggressive behavior could indicate that the student witnessed it at home or is a victim of abuse. The teacher must react calmly to the student’s aggression. The teacher must then isolate the student if the student hits other students. The teacher must teach the students how to manage their emotions, that aggressively acting is unacceptable, and that the students must obey the teacher’s instructions.
