Types of assessment
There are several types of assessments that an educator can use to measure the level of development in students. The examples of evaluation include formative assessment, informal assessment, summative assessment, authentic assessment, and work-integrated assessment.
Methods of authentic assessment
There are numerous methods of authentic assessment. Some of these methods include observation, anecdotal records, running records, rating scale, checklist, portfolio, work sample, event sampling, and time sampling. Observation assists teachers to evaluate the behavior of children, document them, and make decisions. Event sampling enables teachers to record the behavior of children after attending certain events.
