A measure of central tendency is a value that attempts to describe data in a given set by identifying a central position within the dataset CITATION Mik172 \l 2057 (Allen, 2017). Mean, Mode and Medium are the three measures of central tendency. Mean refers to the average of a data set, i.e., the sum of all the data within the set divided by the total data with the set. Mode refers to the most common value or figure within a data set. In other words, it is the value that occurs more often than other values. Lastly, the median refers to the middle of the data set given. Of the three, only mean requires a formula.
