Reflecting On the LTQ Score
What astonished me about my LTQ results was that I scored more points than before. I have realized that the leadership skills and knowledge I learned in the class contributed to my exemplary performance in the LTQ score. I scored five strong points on self-confidence, diligence, empathy, and friendliness. I understand that these factors are foundational concepts needed for quality leadership. The knowledge learned in class enabled me to be a good leader. I have led well on various leadership appointments. For example, our school administration appointed me to lead and manage a leadership program in my community, teaching youths the essence of participating in national exercises such as voting and participating in community development programs such as cleaning exercises and helping the needy. Surprisingly, I also scored 5 points on being articulate. Initially, I was a shy person and very introverted. I liked spending time alone watching movies in my room. I always avoided conversations that could make me express myself so much to people. Moreover, I stammered for many years though I improved after undergoing medical treatment. Initially, I avoided talking because I feared people would laugh at me. My classes on leadership significantly enhanced my speaking skills. I can speak well before the audience without stammering or thinking for a long time about what to say.
I have learned to carry notes containing brief points to guide my speech to concentrate on the main agenda in every leadership meeting. On the other hand, I also practice diligence by executing my roles efficiently, such as notifying and briefing my seniors about any helpful idea before implementing it in the community. The strategy has enabled me to collect quality pieces of advice and recommendation from my bosses and other crucial stakeholders and use them to improve my skills. I have also earned respect and love from the organization's top managers.
My duties as the influencer of the organization have also faced challenges. For example, last week, I handled a complex issue with confidence. The community members complained that some leaders engage in corrupt activities by hiding the resources needed to clean the community's rivers and streams. I exercised self-confidence by organizing all leaders under my authority and talking to them boldly to understand their concerns and feelings for better leadership. Luckily, some ringleaders confessed during the process, and they promised the entire congregation to cease engaging in such scandalous behaviors.
I scored truncated marks on "sensitive," which did not surprise me because there are some issues I cannot stand, such as disrespect and exploitation of resources to benefit a few individuals in the community. I always speak up on such issues to sensitize community members, and they can lead to high corruption and other undesirable problems in society when not addressed. My low tolerance for disrespect and corruption triggered me to take affirmative action by summoning other leaders to explain themselves on the accusation raised by the community member...
