Main Themes of the Chapters
The intercultural communication book concerns communication between individuals of different cultures in the globalization context and the adverse reactions to globalization. People require specific skills, practices, and processes to act appropriately and critically think while communicating with others from varying cultural backgrounds. This paper summarizes the two chapters of the textbook by addressing their main themes while considering their fundamental theories and concepts.
Chapter One
This chapter concerns opening the conversation where the author discusses studying intercultural communication. The author first introduced different definitions of culture, addressed some challenges and opportunities of intercultural communication study and finalized with an intercultural praxis discussion. Imperialism history is among the themes in the first chapter.
