Summary of the Text
Angela Richman, Death Investigator 1 is a story about a detective named Angela who lives in Chouteau Forest. She is known as a “death investigator” because she uses her wits and skills to investigate people’s deaths quickly and enthusiastically. Angela also assists in determining the cause, method, and factors relating to a person’s death. She writes the report, which she sends to an examiner, who will decide on the official cause of death. However, while investigating, Angela becomes ill and believes it is just a migraine headache; she is unaware that it is already something serious. Dr. Gravois, a renowned and loved doctor, attends to Angela, but he sends her home. According to Dr. Gravois, Angela is too young and fit to have a stroke. Angela returns to the hospital, and Dr. Tritt, the opposite of Dr. Gravois, attends to her and immediately performs brain surgery upon learning of her condition. As a result, Dr. Tritt saves Angela’s life. Angela has been unconscious for nineteen days and is hallucinating. Her case causes a dispute between the two doctors, and Dr. Tritt is overheard threatening Dr. Gravois. Dr. Gravois is discovered dead, and Dr. Tritt is the prime suspect. Angela, who has not yet recovered and believes she lacks her detective wits and skills, is determined to prove that the doctor who saved her life, Dr. Tritt, is innocent. Angela's journey to discover the truth has been difficult due to the impact of the surgery on her brain, but she has a friend who is assisting her (Viets).

The detective fiction Angela Richman, the detective, and her stroke recovery are depicted vividly. She is unsure of what is real and what results from her hallucinations. Thus, the reader is left guessing who does the crime and why. Therefore, the purpose of the subgenre has been reinforced by the detective.
Furthermore, the text contains almost all of the elements of a detective novel—first, the ideal crime. There was an argument between the two doctors, and people discovered one making a threat to the other doctor; the next day, the doctor who received the threat died. It is, therefore, a perfect crime. The second component is that there is an incorrectly char...
