Name: Tutor`s Name: Course/Grade: Date: The Nazi seizure of Power Book Review The book analyzes a phenomenon of the Nazi power surge which occurred from 1930 through to 1935. The story has been very significant to many historians as it help them to understand the overall German culture and political structure. Ideally, William Sheridan Allen took a different approach in his book as he sort to exhaustively document what emerged in Thalburg one of the Germany`s local town and how the turnover of event led to the radically conservative politics. According to Allen, the ability to organize people at the local level led to the consequent rise of the Nazi regime. In addition, the inability of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), such as failure to recognize and appreciate the populace needs, considerably led to the rise of the Nazi regime. According to the book, Nazi was able to seize power because of their endless commitment to solve the populace problems, by implementing and advocating for policies which were not only beneficial to the Germans, but which were appropriate to the severe economic depression which was prevailing at that time. The period was also very significant since it was the time when Germany transited from a democratic to a dictatorial leadership. Similarly, the suppression of democratic tendencies and the eminent rise of the new order also occurred between 1930 and 1933. Although there were many other factors which led to the rise of the Nazi regime, Allen noted that the inability of the then Social Democratic Party seemed to be the main one. The book also analyzes that the Nazi`s patriotism and militarist capability significantly boosted the Nazi`s power surge. The ability to believe in what they preached, vigorous implementation of their ideas also boosted their rise into power (Allen 28).
