Approaching the Assignment
A series of various ASL curriculum books are available out there. You select two different ASL curricula and pick two ‘similar’ units. Identify different components that are used in the curriculum book. The next step is to compare and contrast these components. Then identify and analyze the strengths and limitations of each curriculum. Your next task is to write an analysis paper (4-6 pages). The instructor provides a guideline in the video (embedded in PPT) and document formats. The guideline includes different questions. This will require some critical thinking in the process before writing your paper. The instruction for the specific format of the paper is found in the rubric.
Completing the Assignment
Note: It is recommended that you compose your analysis paper using MS Word and save your work as you go. This will prevent a loss of your work in the event that you have a technical problem while online. When you are done composing your analysis paper, submit it here in a timely fashion.

Introduction
I analyzed two books called ‘Master ASL’ and ‘Signing Naturally.’ I found the Masters ASL book, published by Jason Zinza in 2006, and ‘Signing Naturally’, published by Cheri Smith/Ella Mae Lentz/Ken Mikos in 2008. Master ASL is credible and has better resources and information in the book than ‘Signing Naturally’, which has limited resources. The resources are planned to encourage interaction in ASL students. Master ASL and ‘Signing Naturally’ books create a good opportunity for students who want to learn the American Sign Language (ASL). Master ASL and ‘Signing Naturally’ in the information source were different. I picked the two books called 'Master ASL' and 'Signing Naturally' and compared them with functions and topics such as "Welcome" and "Sports & Activities." The two books are popular because the teacher often used them as key sources of information. I wanted to find the similarities with the functions and topics to make me explore all the information on them. I contemplated what the types of each unit are? Can you recognize between these units and details the difference and similarities? I support Master ASL since it has a lot of information and is very factual. It would be good for a high school student to learn, which makes it better than 'Signing Naturally,' which has limited knowledge but is good for college.
Different authors have different topics and functions, for instance, ‘Getting to Know You, Sport & Activates, and Talking about Activities’, which are essential in enhancing skill development. There are different similarities in the resources.
I am looking to compare two different ASL curriculums and use the analysis of two similar units.
Master ASL: Getting to Know You and Sport & Activities
Master ASL book does have English, classroom exercises, homework exercises, pictures, classifiers, narrative, and Rule of 9. Master ASL also has 136 and 83 vocabularies. Master ASL gives students the information to know how to sign language. It would help the student learn how to use vocabulary and classifiers, which is helpful. It includes narrative and storytelling; students have to learn how to use narrative and storytelling because it will help them communicate smoothly. The books help the student to practice their homework and classroom.
Signing Naturally: Getting to Know You and Sport & Activities
Master ASL contains 7 and 39 vocabulary, pictures, ASL gloss, practice, homework, and questions. There are some resources to help the student learn how to sign language. ‘Signing Naturally’ is the newest and has more information on the list. ASL Gloss is the best thing for student signing because it promotes smooth communication. Homework and Classroom exercises are essential to the knowledge of how one learns about sign language.
Master ASL and Signing Naturally have compared similar vocabulary, pictures, and homework.
