The decentralized decision is a critical threat to the effective performance of a company. Decentralization requires dividing the company into smaller units with independent status in the decision-making process (Schmidt, 2018). Therefore, this could be a disadvantage when a department lacks qualified employees and leaders to adopt better decisions. However, this could be an advantage since the department is sovereign, as the department might have skills and techniques to address a problem without the need for involving top management officials.
