1 What is problem that Casper is trying to solve?
It wants people (consumers) to put more importance of sleep and the quality of it enough to spend on trying to make the best experience out of sleeping. Furthermore, Casper is a startup company that is failing to make it in the market using their meme, Slowave, despite following the current trend of online direct-to-consumer business model to sell their product, and they wanted to correct this mistake because they are actually more popular in social media without the meme they paid for (Upson, 2016).
2 Why is this problem happening?
The problem with the meme is that it did not reach a lot of people. This might stem from the fact that they already have a positive social media presence and they are popular in terms of social media videos. They re-popularized out-of-box mattresses because of the astounding number of positive reviews in unboxing videos of their products uploaded by regular and influencer clients.
