The article How to Undertake a Project Quality Review that will Increase Your Bottom-Line was written by Michael Stanleigh. It discusses the project quality review, explaining each phase and its significance. Project quality review is an important task for all projects regardless of industry. It can also be done at any level of the project, whether at the beginning, middle or end of the project. Stanleigh explains the three phases of planning, analysis, and report and recommendations of the project quality review.
The first phase of project quality review is planning and audit of the project quality review. In this phase, the project auditor reviews the process, marking every step and designating dates for every activity. The auditor or the consultant also uses this phase to outline the expectations of the exercise by interviewing project stakeholders, including the committee, leadership team and sponsors to determine the short-term and long-term objectives. Additionally, the project quality review facilitator examines the project's structure and the roles and responsibilities of the resources assigned to the project in this phase.
The second face of the project review quality is project analysis. This is the most comprehensive face involving a review of the entire project. Here, the facilitator/consultant collects information from the project team members, manager, sponsors, suppliers, consultants and vendors to assess the challenges, issues and concerns about the project (Oakes).
