The current society is increasingly dependent on technology, with social networking sites and gadgets such as smart phones contributing to technological evolution. In an article entitled “Attention Deficit: The Brain Syndrome of Our Era,” Professor Richard Restak argues that modern technology has had a huge impact on our brains and the way people connect physically. Restak (381) argues that these technologies have forced the human brain to restructure in order to accommodate multiple presence and identity found in the current society.
