The purpose of this experimental research study was to investigate the productivity and the sufficiency of nitrous oxide sedation for dental treatment on a sizeable pediatric sample, including fearful and disabled patients. Inclusion criteria included pediatric patients who could not agree to dental procedures: these were precooperative children, patients with dental phobia and low pain tolerance, and victims with intellectual disability. Exclusion criteria included acute uncooperative pulmonary illness: acute emotional disturbances or reliance on drugs: acute otitis media: and recent tympanic drainage. Four hundred and seventy-two pediatric adult patients over the age of four to seventeen met the inclusion criteria and were recruited and enrolled between January 2014 to December 2014.
Patients were grouped according to age and sex: 58.7% constituted of patients whose ages ranged from 4 to 6. In terms of gender, 336 were conducted on lady patients and the rest on masculine patients. There were 6.19 ± 2.46 patients who did not complete the treatment. Participants were taken through a dental procedure with the aid of conscious sedation, starting with administering one hundred per cent oxygen through a flavored nasal mask for a maximum of two minutes.
