- This is application to Optometry School
You can use any of the experiences below:
- Experience: I volunteered at a food pantry (Jan 2020-Mar 2020) at my school (UCSC) to assist students with food insecurity by handing out food and products at UCSC’s Food Pantry every week.
- Experience: I am working at an optometry as an optometric assistant and have seen people who don't have health and vision insurances, so there are eye problems/diseases that they can't seek a specialist to get treatment (too expensive). Also people who only speak Chinese/Viet are harder to find eye specialists because of language barrier in my area.

Consequently, food security and good health are inseparable.
Accordingly, in my practice in optometry, I will be conducting a proper assessment of my clients to determine whether or not they are food secure.
