Accordingly, the United States' healthcare system is dichotomous. On the one hand, there is common knowledge that most medical breakthroughs, technological advancements, and premium quality of care are in the country. On the other hand, however, this 'quality healthcare' comes at a high cost, which even places a considerable barrier for many citizens unable to afford it.
