Q1: What were the major factors that affect productivity in year 2?
Productivity at the Brewster-Seaview Landscaping Co. organization went down by 5% in year 2, a significant drop in its output that was 15% percent higher than those of other landscaping companies in the market for the previous year (Case Study, 2023). The problems or factors contributing to the decrease in the company’s overall productivity include the significant drop in work rates, lack of concern and responsibility for the quality of work among the employees, and lack of proper training for the new employees in year 2 (Case Study, 2023). Another factor adversely affecting productivity in year 2 was the lack of willingness to work overtime among the experienced workers. The outlined factors stemmed from the employee’s low job satisfaction due to the new working conditions that deny them the autonomy and freedom to socialize enjoyed in the previous year. The employees’ dissatisfaction with the supervision also reflected the outlined factors leading to an overall decrease in productivity.
